Turn off the TV, get a comfortable chair, be refreshed and ensure you've been to the toilet. Disable or turn off your mobile phone, or instant messaging applications like MSN, AOL, or Yahoo and your email. You're there to focus, and play poker, to WIN! Not be interrupted with silly things!
As discussed previously in this site, don't ever, EVER, gamble with money you can't afford to lose. The consequences far outweigh any possible gains - and even though poker is somewhat a risk game, some people have lost partners, family, and their homes by going beyond their means.
Poker is a game where your wits and focus are needed about you to become a good successful player. Online it is too easy to be going on more than one table, but I suggest, especially for beginners, you stick with one table and one table only.
